I love this hometown place. Burritos and chimichangas are very good. The cilantro dipping sauce is great with either. Salsa could be better. It's not your higher end Mexican restaurant, but a good standby.

Smells like stale cigarettes inside which makes one quickly lose their appetite. And the TVs show nothing but lottery numbers. Sorry. Me no gusta.

Taco Tuesday. Well, you can't screw up a taco can you? The salsa was tasteless, the meat (beef?) was overcooked and tasteless. My wife said the chicken taco was good. Waitress was distant, so much so that I had to get up to get her. Good thing they serve beer, you can't mess that up.

The service here is lousy, when ordering Mexican food (which is supposedly what the restaurant is known for) you get chips and salsa, homemade stale chips with some sort of cheddar cheese powder on top which the other people at my table refer to as a 'crayon taste' we ordered burritos which were not anything to brag about either, the meat was under seasoned and over cooked and the sauce tasted like enchilada sauce out of the can. I give this review two stars only because I support local business and I hate to see them go under but it's a miracle people still dine here.

First off I have to say that Joel C's review is totally staged. This dude claims to live in Muskegon and he comes down to SL for Vic's? I don't think so. Especially when you got El Camino which is the tasteieast Americanized Mexican food around these parts located in Muskegon. Maybe Joel C is a NASCAR fan? Or maybe Joel C likes to drink? Either way Joel C has never eaten authentic Mexican food. Vic's does nothing but disappoint year after year. I had been going here once a year for 15 years so I know what I'm talking about. The quality has dipped below the standards. I will not eat their salty stale Chips and watered down salsa with peas. I will not eat their shrunken wet burrito with extra cheese and a side of sour cream. I will not eat off their 5 year old aged salad bar with pickled herring. I will not eat their deep fried tortilla shell Mexican pizza. I will not eat their tacos on tuesday nor their wings on Wednesday (not clever at all). I will NOT be going back to Vic's. Amen!

The grossest salsa on the planet! Taco Tuesdays are almost o.k. but I like chips and salsa. This salsa tastes like watered down stale tomatoes. Absolutely zero flavor. Yuck.

Went to Vic's tonight with my brother, his girlfriend and his friend for Taco Tuesdays. We waited around 15 minutes just to get a seat. After the waitress came and took our orders we then waited another good 40 minutes. Wasn't even that many people tonight. Must have been low on staff. I ordered 4 crunchy tacos and they were decent. I love the fine beef they use. The tortilla chips tasted stale and chewy. Not too impressed with those. And the salsa isn't my favorite. The waitress I didn't think was the friendliest and I didn't get to see what her name was, as she had no name tag and I didn't want to stare at her chest too long. Yeah, guess I'm a nice guy. She wasn't the greatest looking anyway, but no waitress has ever been the friendliest to me. Overall, I can't recommend it nor not recommend it. Try it for yourself and see what you think.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
